A Little About Me

I'd rather take a beating than wright about myself, but I can’t get anyone else to do if for me, so here goes:

I am a fifty-year native of Lawrence County Indiana.  My husband Dennis and I make our home in the Guthrie area near Lake Monroe where the wildlife is plentiful.  Sometimes too plentiful, wreaking havoc on chickens.

I paint both plein air and in the studio.  I really enjoy aspects of both.  The plein air makes my studio work better.  My favorite medium is oil.  The consistency, color, and drying speed all support the way I like to paint.  It's what works best for me outside and in.  I like the time I have to fiddle with it before it dries.  My friends have dubbed me "Weed Queen" for my love of (painting only!) weeds and flowers.

My work has won some awards in plein air events and has juried into exhibits of the Indiana Heritage Arts (IHA).  Some of my work may be viewed in the book "Painting Indiana III: Heritage of Place".
