Mark Burkett is a painter and printmaker residing in Mooresville, Indiana. He attended Indiana State University, receiving a BFA in fine art printmaking. He records scenes of the Midwest in a straightforward manner. He usually paints in plein air and uses his oil paintings as source material for his wood block prints. His paintings were included in Painting Indiana II; The Changing Face of Agriculture and Painting Indiana III; Heritage of Place, both publications under the sponsorship of Indiana Plein Air Painters. His work is in the collections of Indiana State Museum, Sheldon Swope Art Museum, Cleveland Clinic, and Rose – Hulman Instititute of Technology.
He is a member of Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, Indiana Artists' Club and Indiana Heritage Arts.
