Canvassing Art - A Collection of Art Reviews and Critiques
A paperback book featuring collections of art reviews and critiques from the Brown County Democrat by John "Abe" Eyed.
John "Abe" Eyed served as art critic for The Brown County Democrat in 1971 and 1972, and submitted articles several times when an exhibit especially moved him. Art became an important part of Abe's life at age 11 when he met Dale Bessire. Besides Impressionist art, Abe's appreciation grew to include many forms from Pre-Raphaelite to abstract art.
These reviews and critiques cover a variety of subjects and artists from a sidewalk art show to the first Indiana Heritage Arts Exhibition, from a solo exhibit of a promising 6-year-old to some of the greats of Brown County, including Dale Bessire, Curry Bohm and Marie Goth.
